Adopt a Teddy
As part of the Pigtown Festival, Limerick Youth Service is hosting a Teddy Bears Pig-nic with a double twist at King’s Island Youth & Community Centre, St. Mary’s Park on Saturday next, September 30th at 1pm.
The double twist is that Limerick Youth Service’s unique Teddy Bears Pig-Nic will be part of the Pigtown Culture & Food Series while you can adopt a teddy-bear!
‘We have 150 super cute teddy bears that need new homes and are inviting young people and their families our Teddy Bear Pig-nic in St. Mary’s Park,’ said Gillian Boland, Limerick Youth Service.
‘We’ll have a BBQ stand with delicious homemade Limerick bacon, live music, facepainting, sports, games and of course teddy bears!’ said Gillian, youth worker with St. Mary’s Park youth groups.
The teddy bear picnic is a great opportunity for all members of the community to meet each other, find out about LYS’s groups in the area and have fun!
‘It promises to be a great day,’ said Gillian, adding with smile ‘and of course they can take home a new member of the family-one that doesn’t need feeding!’
