Limerick’s Youth Get Ready to Rumble

Rising stars from the Munster boxing scene will gather at the Best Western Pery Hotel this Saturday evening, October 12th as Limerick Youth Service and Our Lady of Lourdes/St. Saviour’s Boxing Club host a charity boxing bout.

The evening, which will see twenty boxers from Limerick, Clare and Kerry touch gloves inside the squared circle, is a fundraiser for both organisations.

Vote on Northside Youth Space Deferred

Limerick Youth Service accepts Limerick City Council’s decision to postpone the vote re the disposal of lands for the proposed Northside Youth Space, to allow some councillors an opportunity to become more informed on the matter more.

Court’s Poor Box Aids Limerick’s New Junior Leaders.

Nine young people who successfully completed a Limerick Youth Service Junior Leadership Programme were presented with their Certificates of Achievement by Judge Eugene O’Kelly at Limerick Courthouse recently.

Caherdavin Youth Club are inviting parents in Caherdavin and the surrounding areas who have young people in second level and would like to see them join a Youth Club to attend to a registration evening this Friday, September 20th at the Community Centre, Caherdavin from 7:30.

Limerick Volunteers in Running for National Awards

Limerick Youth Service is delighted to announce that twelve volunteers have been nominated for this year’s Youth Work Ireland Volunteer Achievement Awards.

The awards, which will be held at Youth Work Ireland’s National Office, Dublin on Saturday, October 12th, recognise the invaluable contribution that volunteers have and continue to give to young people across the country.

Lava Javas Reopens for New Season

After its summer holidays Limerick city’s premier Youth Café, Lava Javas, has reopened its doors to the young people of midwest.

Located at 5 Lower Glentworth St, Lava Javas has grown to become a focal point of youth culture in Limerick city.

With a coffee bar, pool table, dance floor and comfy sofas galore, there is something for everyone at Limerick’s first Youth Café.

Limerick Youth Represent Ireland at Ukraine Youth Summit

Members of Limerick Youth Service were among 700 young people from 62 countries who attended an International Youth Summit at the ‘Artek’ International Children’s Centre in the Crimea region of the Ukraine recently.

There were joyous scenes at Limerick Youth Service recently as ten young people received their Leaving Cert Applied results.

Yell Fever!

Limerick Youth Service was delighted to host young people from France as part of YELL la Fievere (YELL fever).  The week saw young people from various parts of Limerick city & county  spend time with their French peers where they discussed citizenship, the cultural differences between growing up in France & Ireland and much more.
