European Youth Workers to ‘Share Their Stories’ at Limerick Youth Service

Celebrating 40 years

Limerick Youth Service is delighted to welcome youth workers from across Europe to a week-long training programme in Limerick title, ‘SOS-Share Our Stories,’ that will run from Monday, October 28th to Friday, November 1st.

Six young people from Limerick Youth Service’s Rathkeale Youth Project will be Limerick county’s sole representatives at the X-Hale Short Film Awards at the Omniplex Cinema, Dooradoyle, on Tuesday next, October 29th.

Halloween Disoc Rocks Askeaton

Askeaton’s Community Hall was alive to the sound of music and young people on Friday last, as Askeaton-Ballysteen Youth Club played host to a Halloween Youth Disco.

The gruesome gathering saw young people from across Limerick delve into the nether regions of their minds as they donned costumes galore with zombies, vampires and more invading the historical town.

Limerick Volunteers Honoured by Youth Work Ireland

Two volunteers with Limerick Youth Service were honoured for their commitment to the lives of Limerick’s young people at Youth Work Ireland’s Volunteer Achievement Awards recently.

At a gala luncheon in Dublin, Seán O’Meara, Clonlara and Jerry O’Donovan, Newcastlewest, were presented with the Behind the Scenes and Extra Mile Awards respectively.

Young Boxers Showcase Their Talent

There was standing room only at the Best Western Pery Hotel, Limerick on Saturday last, as boxing fans packed into the city centre venue to witness an entertaining evening of boxing action.

Youth Spaces on the Agenda at City Comhairle AGM

City Comhairle AGM

Young people from across Limerick city gathered at the Absolute Hotel recently for Limerick City Comhairle na nÓg’s AGM which was officially opened by Deputy Mayor, Cllr. Gerry McLouglin.

The over sixty young people in attendance heard about the workings of Comhairle na nÓg, which are youth councils that address issues of relevance to young people.

Over 100 New Members at Newcastlewest Youth Club

Newcastlewest Youth Club was a hive of activity on Friday evening last, October 4th as it held a registration evening for new members.

Accompanied by their parents/guardians, in excess of 100 young people joined what is one of Limerick’s largest, active and longest serving Youth Clubs.

Kilfinane Youth Needs You!

Celebrating 40 years

Interested in volunteering with a new youth club in Kilfinane, Co. Limerick? Are you over 18? If you have answered yes then you are invited to a Volunteer Information & Registration evening at Scoil Pól, Kilfinane on Thursday next, October 10th from 7-8pm.

The evening is an opportunity to speak with Limerick Youth Service staff and volunteers and learn about the workings of a youth club.

County Comhairle na nÓg Hold AGM

‘Express your thoughts and ideas,’ were the words of Cllr. John Sheahan, as he formally opened Limerick County Comhairle na nÓg’s AGM recently.

Cllr. Sheahan, the Cathoireaclach of Limerick County Council, was joined by current Comhairle members and over 70 students from across Limerick county at County Hall, Dooradoyle.
