Lava Javas Reopens for New Season

After its summer holidays Limerick city’s premier Youth Café, Lava Javas, has reopened its doors to the young people of midwest.

Located at 5 Lower Glentworth St, Lava Javas has grown to become a focal point of youth culture in Limerick city.

With a coffee bar, pool table, dance floor and comfy sofas galore, there is something for everyone at Limerick’s first Youth Café.

Limerick Youth Represent Ireland at Ukraine Youth Summit

Members of Limerick Youth Service were among 700 young people from 62 countries who attended an International Youth Summit at the ‘Artek’ International Children’s Centre in the Crimea region of the Ukraine recently.

Yell Fever!

Limerick Youth Service was delighted to host young people from France as part of YELL la Fievere (YELL fever).  The week saw young people from various parts of Limerick city & county  spend time with their French peers where they discussed citizenship, the cultural differences between growing up in France & Ireland and much more.

TG4 Star Shows Support to Ger McDonnell Cycle

The countdown is on to this year’s Ger McDonnell Memorial Cycle with the green flag waving cyclists off this Saturday, July 27th at Kilcornan Community Centre at 9:30am and the chequered flag awaiting cyclists 112KM later in Doolin, Co. Clare.

Celebrating 40 years

The countdown is on to this year’s Ger McDonnell Memorial Cycle. Please see the video below for a preview of the course. Start time is 9:30am in Kilcornan Community Hall, Co. Limerick. The cycle will finish 112KM later in Doolin, Co. Clare.

Team LYS Enjoy Soccer Success in Cork

Limerick Youth Service enjoyed success on the football field recently as they won the inaugural Electric Aid Suicide and Prevention Awareness Munster Cup.

Held at the Glen Resource Centre, Cork city, the tournament brought together twelve diverse teams with immigrant and homeless groups to taking to the pitch with young adults.

Northside Youths Meet Limerick’s First Citizen

Young people from Ballynanty, Kileely and Thomondgate were one of the first groups to have an audience with the new Mayor of Limerick recently, as they presented Cllr. Kathleen Leddin with a petition of almost 550 signatures in support of Limerick Youth Service’s proposed Northside Youth Space.

Award Time for Watergate Youth

There was standing room only at the Irishtown Youth Hub recently as members of the Watergate Youth Group received their Certificates of Achievements following a successful and enjoyable year.

The young people, who hail from the close knit Watergate community in Limerick city, were presented with their Certificates by Catherine Kelly, Director, Limerick Youth Service.

Involvement Training for Abbeyfeale’s Youth

Young people from Abbeyfeale recently completed an IT course with a difference after they finished an eleven week ‘Involvement Training’ programme facilitated by Limerick Youth Service.
